Two small apartments were combined into a spacious loft that includes an expanded living room, two bedrooms with a shared private living area, an office area with storage, and a new kitchen. The design intent was to complement the loft’s openness with the reconfigured spaces.
The kitchen is established with two stepped, parallel walls. In between those walls, maple cabinetry, tile and durable laboratory countertops set the kitchen’s character. It opens onto the living room and is partially screened to provide an informal dialogue with the dining area. Cabinetry in the dining area provides for dish, glassware and wine storage.
